Sheila Turvey (1926 – 1987), devoted a considerable part of her last twenty years to researching and writing the family history. Her four grandparents families were BUCHER, MICHEL, LAWRENCE and DARBY, and those of her husband Ralph were TURVEY, WATERS, SEWARD and PALMER. For each of these branches there is a family history and an accompanying family chart. She made two original typewritten copies, one for each of her children. We have treasured these, but long felt that they would be of great interest to a wider family audience, with their meticulous scholarship, lively stories and insights, and wonderful photos and other archival material.
In 2018 we began the work of digitising what she called ‘Sheila’s Bequest’, and are publishing the histories as hardback books through lulu.com, for family members only. These are available at cost price through the blue name links above. All of the genealogical information contained in the charts has been turned into a GEDCOM database, available on request, containing an incredible 1254 people, which you are encouraged to use as the basis for, or to supplement, your own family research. Nothing would have made Sheila happier than to know her work was being shared and enjoyed.
